MISS NELL’S BIBLE STUDY BEGINS ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

Ladies, come join Miss Nelle’s Bible Study as we study the book The Christ-Centered Woman: Finding Balance in a World of Extremes by Kimberly Dunnam Reisman.  “Women respond to many callings – those of family and home, work and colleagues, and ministry and discipleship. Kimberly Dunnam Reisman, a working mother of three, explores how to respond from a calm center rather than from frustration and exhaustion.”  Our study group meets each Wednesday during the school year at 10:00 am until 11:45 am in room 112.  Some of the group goes out to lunch afterward.  If you want to order a book, please contact Cindy Schnable at cschnable@bellsouth.net by Monday, August 28.

BOOK CLUB FOR SEPTEMBER—SEPTEMBER 12, 2017

We all dream of being happy. If we could just lose the extra weight, get the job, buy the house, we could truly be happy. But over time, it begins to seem as though lasting happiness is unattainable. Despite our best efforts, true happiness will never be a reality for us. So how do we find lasting happiness and contentment in our lives? Maybe the answer isn’t in our own lives at all.  Matt Miofsky connects the existential question, “Am I happy?”, with basic theology and unexpected biblical texts. Starting with the book of Ecclesiastes, considering if any “thing” can make us happy, he explores the value of relationships, a forgiving lifestyle, living in the present, feeling gratitude, and learning to release control.

SAVE THE DATE

Ladies, it is not too early to mark your calendar for our annual Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch on October 7.
