Tickets are available at the door:

$7/Adult – $3/Child (10 and under) ($28 Max per Family)

                Nachos will be available for those who don’t like chili and

                             Ms. Dianna will also have a movie night for the kids during the Mission                          Presentation. Plus, baked goods will be available for purchase.

                      TOWN HALL MEETINGS WITH BISHOP SUE HAUPERT-JOHNSON

           Clergy and laity are invited to attend a town hall meeting with the Bishop on the future of The United Methodist Church here in North Georgia and beyond.  Our local meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 29th, 3:30 pm,  at Fayetteville First UMC.

YOUTH NEWS

           On Saturday, February 1 the youth will be going to Winter Jam in Atlanta. The cost is $15 and reservations are a must! Contact Andy Unger to reserve a place. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, January 26.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

It’s never too early to collect for Operation Christmas Child!  Our church will take donations with a different item each month. For the month of January, we will collect coloring books. The donations will be used at the packing party in November. There is a collection basket located in the narthex. Any questions, please contact Katie Brown at 678-876-6670 or mkbrown864@gmail.com.

SPECIAL OFFERING TODAY

Today we will taking a special offering for Human Relations Day. Human Relations Day is one of the 6 church-wide special Sunday offerings. This program looks at all ethnic backgrounds and all churches and brings them together. The goal is to serve and empower the community. 57% of the funds received are allocated  to the community developers program.  Please mark your checks “Human Relations Day” and drop them in the offering plate.

LaGRANGE DISTRICT TRAINING EVENT

Saturday, February 1st from 9:00am-11:30am @ Fayetteville First UMC.

The Annual District Training Event will begin with a “Breakfast Church”, which will be a Fresh Expressions workshop following the format of the popular Dinner Church. Following the breakfast workshop, participants will then choose to participate in 1 of 8 training sessions offered from 10:15-11:30am. Because we will be serving breakfast, we are asking participants to pre-register by January 27 so that we can get an accurate count for food. Maria Bowers Gardiner, Regional Disaster Response – Rev. Scott Pickering & Mr. Bill Pound.

                All churches in the LaGrange District are encourage to send several representatives to this event so that every church can benefit from several workshops.

                              MISISONARY UPDATE AND UPCOMING VISIT

      Available from Ushers on Sunday is a letter from Ellyn Dubberly, the missionary that we support in El Salvador.  I encourage you to read this letter in its entirety to get to know Ellyn as she, for the first time since she became a missionary, will be visiting our church on Sunday, March 1st, 2020.  Ellyn and Brian, her husband, took in a young child (Camila) several years ago which severely restricted Ellyn’s ability to come to the U.S..  Camila is now old enough that it is easier for Ellyn to leave for short periods.  We should feel honored that Ellyn chose us for a Sunday visit!  We are only one of three churches that have this hono
