2018 Review

During the past year, under the direction of Mr. Brandon Steiper, the ministry has conducted many activities, touching the lives of children, youth and their families:

  • Held a summer festival event at Eastgate (an underserved community in Newnan) with games, hotdog and hamburgers, arts and crafts, bounce houses, snow cones, and lots of fellowship.
  • Helped a family with some specific needs with a donation (the need was communicated through Cornerstone Youth Staff)
  • Provided approximately 38 pairs of “Back to School” shoes to local families in need after gathering specific sizes, etc., for the children of those families. Our wonderful Cornerstone congregation provided all the shoes.
  • Purchase Chromebook Covers for needy 3rd grade students at Poplar Road Elementary School
  • Held a Thanksgiving festival at Eastgate with bounce houses, hotdogs, games and fellowship – providing Thanksgiving meals to 55 families
  • A mom with 3 children (mom was in the hospital) was helped with a Kroger Gift Card (the need was communicated through Cornerstone Youth Staff)
  • Christmas gifts were provided for the children at Eastgate
  • A mom with a child needed housing for week and food. We provided for the temporary shelter at an extended-stay motel and a Kroger Gift Card (the need was communicated through Cornerstone Youth Staff)
  • The ministry has partnered with Midwest Foodbank in Peachtree City, GA. O’Rourke Ministries has a quarterly opportunity to pick up and distribute food to local families in need.

We are thankful to all of those who have provided service to this ministry, those who orchestrated and helped with the amazing pork butt sale fund raiser, those who communicate the needs in our community, those who contributed financially to this ministry, and most of all we are thankful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
